Misty was a true beauty in the show ring. She seemed to float around the ring with graceful movement, reach and drive.

She was a well balanced girl with good angles, top line, correct head, length of neck and has a thick dense coat.

When Misty was just 6 months old, she and I took a road trip with a friend to the ACC Supported show in Ashville NC I almost didn't enter as this was her and my first time in the show ring and I wasn't sure either of us was ready.

I'm glad I overcame my fears as Misty took BOS in the Puppy Sweepstakes! After that she's had limited showing as she's been very busy running hunt tests. She spent the summer training with her breeders, Kathy and Alan Luthy. Alan ran her in her first UKC Started tests and Jim finished her couple months later in Monteverde Fl. Then is was more training, a few shows, including getting her first 3 point major in Brooksville Fl and the very next weekend running for her first two passes in AKC Junior test. She finished her JH in Williston Florida with 5 junior passes. A few weeks later she was back in the show ring getting her second major in Pensacola Fl.

Misty loved to retrieve, as pretty as she was in the show ring, it was in the field that she was the happiest. She had excellent marking ability, covers lots of ground fast and straight. Misty would probably do well in Agility but I honestly don't think I could keep up with her! She had a happy, easy going personality, loads of energy and liked to keep busy. She was wonderful with all my grandchildren. Her pedigree is full of well rounded dogs of both conformation and working titles on both sides.

On March 9,2013, Misty earned her GCH title at the West Palm Beach Dog show by taking Best of Opposite Sex. WE were so very proud of Misty and her accomplishments.

November 2014: We took taken Misty out of retirement and she was back in the show ring, getting ready to head to Orlando in December for the Eukanuba Classic. She was awarded Best of Opposite at the Hernando Kennel Club show in Brooksville Florida and Select at the Ocala Fl. show the following weekend.

December 13, 2014: Misty was awarded Grand Champion Select at the Eukanuba National Championship in Orlando Florida. This was made extra special because she was owner/handled by Jim! We are so very proud of them both! This was our biggest highlight of the year!!

Misty lived out the rest of her years in happy retirement as Queen of the house. We had hoped to bring her out of retirement for one more show as a veteran but that wasn't in the cards for our Miss Mist. She leaves behind some awesome kids, grandkids and great grands to keep her spirit alive in our hearts. She is deeply missed here at Whispering Oaks.
